Avanti Group

Formerly known as the Young Professionals Division, the Avanti Group is a non-profit, volunteer-based organization for established and up-and-coming young professionals in the Chicagoland area. The organization is open to people of all ethnic backgrounds interested in exploring the Italian culture and engaging in exciting social events. The mission of the JCCIA Young Professionals organization is to connect young professionals through social and business networking opportunities while advancing the Italian American community.

The organization provides entertaining and unique experiences for its members to build lasting relationships, engage in professional development opportunities and become change-makers in the community. The ongoing events organized by the Avanti Group will connect young professionals with a valuable network to help them learn, grow, and develop professionally and enjoy and celebrate the social culture of the Italian American lifestyle. Membership is open It is open to all young professionals between the ages of 18 and 35. Membership Dues are $30.00 annually.

President Pasquale G. Gianni shared at the January Installation on the Group that, “Avanti is a beautiful Italian word which means, forward. And that’s exactly what we are looking to do. Bring in young folks, get them excited, passionate about their heritage, because we have so many things to celebrate.” Gianni then goes on to say, “The Avanti Group will be a noble mission of bringing young people to the forefront of this endeavor…the future of our community.”

Leadership

Pasquale D. Gianni

​Pasquale Gianni is Staff Counsel and Director of Government Affairs for Teamsters Joint Council 25, an umbrella organization representing over 100,000 hard-working men and women in Illinois and Northwest Indiana. As the organization’s exclusive in-house lobbyist, Gianni drafts legislation, testifies in legislative committees as well as boards and commissions, works to persuade elected officials, and maneuvers the legislative process at all levels of government. Gianni helps manage a Teamster PAC Fund to align with member’s interests and directs a field operation to elect pro-labor candidates. In addition, he has extensive experience with collective bargaining, National Labor Relations Board proceedings, and jurisdictional dispute hearings between local affiliates.

Mr. Gianni is President of the Avanti Group of Young Italian-Americans, and an Executive Board Member of the Joint Civic Committee of Italian-Americans. His maternal grandfather and mentor, the late Dominic DiFrisco, served as President Emeritus of the JCCIA and shined in the Columbus Day Parade Broadcast booth for over 45 years. Pasquale is proud to have been awarded the opportunity to fill that role. In 2019, Pasquale stepped into his grandfather’s shoes to serve as master of ceremonies for the JCCIA’s coveted Dante Awards. He also started a monthly column titled “gioventù” in Fra Noi, Chicagoland’s Italian-American publication. He is also a partner in his family’s fourth-generation office furniture manufacturing business, Gianni Inc. A proud, lifelong Chicagoan and avid Cubs, Bears, and Bulls fan, Gianni enjoys attending sporting events, dining at local restaurants, and spending time with his cherished family.

Nicolette Lollino

Nicolette Lollino is the co-founder of The Avanti Group, a community-driven organization focused on bringing together young professional Italian Americans. With a degree from DePaul University, Nicolette’s passion for event coordination shines through in her work, where she thrives on creating experiences that foster connection and celebrate heritage. Outside of Avanti, Nicolette is an entrepreneur, real estate investor, and licensed broker, constantly exploring new opportunities and challenges. Whether it’s through her professional ventures or her work with Avanti, Nicolette is dedicated to making a lasting impact and helping others in her community succeed.

Dan Vitale

JCCIA Avanti Group Treasurer

After a successful career as a fullback in the NFL, Dan Vitale has sought to redefine his identity beyond football. Embracing his Italian heritage, he has dedicated himself to fostering a vibrant Italian American community in Chicago. As treasurer of The Avanti Group, he utilizes his experience as a successful financial advisor at Morgan Stanley to manage resources effectively and support the group’s cultural initiatives. With a vision to expand The Avanti Group into a national community, Dan assists in organizing events and community gatherings that celebrate Italian traditions, creating a tight-knit network that honors their shared history. Today, he does his best to champion the values of family and community, proving that life beyond sports can be rich with purpose and connection.

Giancarlo Saraceno

JCCIA Avanti Group Treasurer & Advisor

As the Senior Commodity Broker at EdgeClear, Giancarlo Saraceno has built a career rooted in calculated risk-taking and strategic decision-making. Starting his journey in finance at just 18 years old, Giancarlo transitioned from Merrill Lynch to EdgeClear, where he has been honing his expertise for the past six years.

A proud second-generation Italian American, Giancarlo’s heritage has been a cornerstone of his identity. Seeking to connect with like-minded individuals who share his cultural values, he joined The Avanti Group, where he plays a role in the organization’s treasury department. Leveraging his financial acumen, Giancarlo alongside Dan Vitale oversees the group’s budgets and cash flow, ensuring the success of events that celebrate and preserve Italian culture. Outside of his busy career, Giancarlo is passionate about making a meaningful impact on the Italian American community, striving to share and honor the rich culture and heritage.

Lorenzo Costa

Lorenzo Costa, is the founder of Chicago based marketing agency, Link Creative. As Founder and CEO of Link Creative, Lorenzo leverages his extensive background in branding and business development to drive Link Creative’s strategic growth. He has developed custom integrations that support social growth solutions across sectors like: hospitality, professional services, health and wellness, and consumer product goods.

Growing up in the western suburbs of Bloomingdale, Lorenzo’s Italian-American roots has influenced some of the most important aspects of his life. As someone who is deeply rooted in family, culture, and ambition, Lorenzo looks forward to continuing his journey as a young Italian-American business owner as he expands his connections and build his relationships further.
